According to the ancient Indian wisdom text, Bhagavad Gita, “Yoga is the breaking of contact with pain.” Pain manifests in many forms, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. The ancient practices of yoga have the capacity to aid each of us in “breaking that contact.” Twenty-five years ago, I was working successfully in a high stress corporate environment. After a while, the success began to be accompanied by physical pain. At the same time I began yoga classes. As a result of that first series of classes, I discovered the pain I was experiencing was actually caused by my body contracting in response to stress!

Blessedly, yoga helped me learn to use my body appropriately and release unnecessary tension, relieving the pain and discomfort. That first yoga class changed my life. Now I am dedicated to helping all those who wish to learn, the techniques appropriate for one’s unique needs that help them “break contact with pain.” One-on-one yoga therapy, group classes, workshops, and retreats are a few of the modalities available to you.
